Paradiso Ritrovato meets at Lago Maggiore to finalize “The white rabbit lair”…

We found the partners for our new Youth Exchange which we entitled “The White Rabbit Lair”. Four fantastic associations from all around Europe answered our call for partnership in the project. We proudly present them…

The association “Paradiso Ritrovato” met in Baveno on the beautiful shores of the Lago Maggiore, Piedmont. We met to finalize our Youth in Action project and between one meeting and the other we also took time for climbing some truly beautiful cliffs!

Our Youth in Action project, “The white rabbit lair ” is a multilateral youth exchange and will take place in northern Italy, in Cuneo countryside, from the 27th of August to the 3rd of August. There will be 25 participants from Italy, Romania, Hungary, Spain and Bulgaria.

As companions for this exiting adventure will we have the associations:

– “Mare Nostrum” from Romania which renews the partnership from last year’s “Noah’s Ark” Youth Exchange with Paradiso Ritrovato. Mare Nostrum was formed in the summer 1993 as an association of specialists to address the continuous degradation of Black Sea marine and coastal ecosystems. In order to achieve this mission, Mare Nostrum is focusing on environmental education, public awareness campaigns, coastal environment surveys, advocacy, and lobbying. Find more information on their website: www.marenostrum.ro

– “ÚTON -On the way” from Hungary whose goals are to help intercultural learning processes, tolerance programs and to promote ‘culture of peace’. For more information visit their website: www.utonegyesulet.hu

– “Asociacion Sociocultural Isla CreActiva” from Tenerife, Spain which aims to promote, foster and report on social participation in local and international level as part of active citizenship, understood as the democratic proposal of ideas, initiatives and creativity to improve the environment and conditions people’s lives. – “Active Ideas Foundation” from Bulgaria which is a youth environmental organization. Their main aim is to build ecological education, by doing outdoor activities. They organize activities connected to: ecology, art, culture, sport, social work, music and other free time activities. For more information visit their website: www.ActiveIdeas.org

We are very enthusiastic to work with this international team!

The project “The White Rabbit lair” aims at raising young people’s awareness and mobilization around environmental challenges in order to encourage the development of “green” skills and behaviours among young people and youth workers and their commitment to a more suitable growth.  The project has being inspired by “ Alice in wonderland ”and its core is to discover what is inside the lair. We will dive in the white rabbit lair in order to find a creative and innovative active way to face the challenges of life. We want the participants to develop new skills in order to find solutions for a world that is seeking green-initiatives. The main activities will be inspired by key points of the tale. The red line of the project will be the design and the construction of a creation, such as a herb garden, compost toilet and clay oven that we will build up daily with local and natural materials. Through this activity we want the youth to adopt a cooperative way of working together. The project methodology will be designed in order to have a good balance between theory, practical work, valuable social moments and introspective one.

And now some little pictures of our climbing experience on Lago Maggiore, for some of us the first climbs for some others the deepening of the relation to the mountain stone and the own limits…

And to end the day with a deeper reflection of what climbing means for us, what fears it triggers, to what limit it brings and to what sense of freedom and liberation, we watched a video where Manolo, the man that invented climbing as we know it today, speaks about his relation to the mountains as a strong calling, attraction and mirror of his inner soul …

Here’s the video, unfortunately only in Italian…
